"Life puts people in front of us so that we can be prepared of what comes next" This episode was really nice, we finally had some resolution to the drama that came with Shawn and Maya's mother. I am so excited to share my thoughts.
The breakup: So this episode starts as an awkward moment between Riley and Corey. She breaks up with him, which I felt could have been a really strong parallel to Riley outgrowing her father. The only problem is that there wasn't enough evidence in the episode to confirm my theory. It's still a cute scene. Shawn and Maya: It's really nice to see a father figure enter Maya's life. This also happens to have a positive influence on Maya's life. Shawn starts by not wanting to hurt Maya's feelings by giving her advice. He tell her that she should change her clothes. Maya really loves that Shawn cares so much. She also starts believing in hope. It is clear that Maya's life hasn't been easy in the slightest so this was a huge deal. Mamma knows best: Maya's mom loves having Shawn around, but she knows that Shawn isn't consistent. She knows that as a writer he is always traveling, and she doesn't want Maya to be hurt by the fact that he isn't a constant. Then Shawn turns around and gives her mom credit for the clothes he bought her. From there she goes to attacking Shawn accusing him that the feelings that he has for Maya are being confused with the feelings he has for her. He denies this. We learn that in reality, she is confusing her feelings for Kermit(her ex-husband), with her feelings for Shawn. The Lesson: The Lesson was about New Orleans, and how the city is always under attack by hurricanes. It is not a safe place to live, but people have hurricane parties and barbecues. They have hope, and that's what keeps their city alive and beautiful. The lesson parallels with Maya because the hope that she has for her life being better is what makes her beautiful. Angela: WOW! I did not expect to see her. This is really weird, and it looks like another hurricane has entered Maya's life until, Angela dumps Shawn again. We quickly find out that she is engaged, and we see Shawn's heart break again. She brings up moments from the past, and she really just came to talk to Shawn. Daddy: Shawn's Dad was revived in spirit through this episode and nearly brought back the sad memories from Boy Meets World. If you watched Boy Meets World, you had to shed a tear at that amazing scene. Final Thoughts: This episode was awesome. I mean it was really nice to see Angela and follow the crisis's of her, Shawn, and Maya. I really enjoyed Angela being the push that Shawn needed to get to know Maya's mom better. So far this season has picked up and dropped that story line so much. I feel it becoming the final endgame but Shawn and Maya's mom are way too nervous to become anything at this point.

Was I the only one that was completely blind sighted by this? I totally thought that it would be Naldo and Marci. I mean come on! Marci and Naldo both like "Spark Dynamo". Then there is the fact that Naldo likes being around really smart people and helping them out with their science experiments. Then there s also the fact that Marci seems to like guys that aren't as smart as her. Does anyone remember Cameron? The guy that Cid tried to ask out, but Cameron thought that Marci was asking him so he went with her. Then they ended up dating for a while! Yea, so it only makes sense that Naldo and Marci would be together. Marci and Barry don't make a good couple. They are both really smart which means that they'll always be in competition to prove that they're smarter than the other person! I think the writers are trying to make Naldo and Cid a couple. I mean Cid was in love with Naldo in 4th grade. Those feelings could resurface again...I guess we'll have to wait and see!
This episode was a great pickup from where we last left Riley, Maya, and Lucas! I am so excited to share my thoughts on this episode.
Charlie Gartner: Man! My favorite character was destroyed in this episode. I was so hurt, I was yelling at my television screaming "NOOOOO". If you have read any of my previous blogs about this show, then you know that I am a huge fan of supporting characters like Charlie Gartner, Yogi, Darby, and Dave. I really wish we had more of them. Charlie has had the most lines by far of any of the supporting characters. He has proved in every single episode that he is genuinely a good guy. Even Corey admitted to liking him. In this episode, Charlie proved his devotion to Riley, he showed that he was caring, and he also showed that he really pays attention to Riley. All of this made it hurt for me more when Riley breaks his heart for the second time on this show. Although, I think that Charlie Gartner might last a few more episodes. They hinted at a bonding moment between Auggie and Charlie that could potentially continue.
Lucaya: Well, we know one thing is for sure. These two crazy kids really like each other. Maya knows deep down that Riley still likes Lucas, but there is a part of her that really wants to explore her feelings for him. I think that this is really important for her character because last season she was very concealed, but this season she has really been exploring her history and reasoning for her actions. It's nice to see her work through new feelings that she doesn't quite understand. It seems like Lucas is doing the same thing. He knows that Riley has some feelings for him, and he still has some feelings for her. The only issue that he struggles with is how he feels about Maya. I think he really wants to explore all of his feelings, but it's hard to keep his heart in two different places.
Smackle: Smackle has come a long way since season 1. By dating Farkle she has learned more about emotions and human connection. She used to struggle with contact but now she willingly gives awkward hugs. She's grown a lot. Farkle: His New Years outburst was the bravest thing i have ever seen him do. I was really proud that he had the courage to betray Riley like that. I am hoping that they don't hold this against him because he did a really good things. If they continued to keep secrets from each other it would put a strain on their friendship. It hurt Maya when Riley didn't tell her about her bully, and it hurt Riley when Farkle didn't tell her about his bully. He hated the idea of more secrets being introduced to their friendship. New Years: Now this was huge because it was all about who is going to be with who. They say that who you are with at midnight will be who you spend the year with. I think that it was admirable of Riley to break things off with Charlie. I really enjoyed the moment between Lucaya. Lucas shows his confusion by saying that he was saving the spot next to him for someone but he just didn't know who. Maya stands there and says that she is glad to be with Lucas at midnight. Lucas really likes hearing this compliment, since it is the first nice thing that Maya has ever said to him. I mean come on she has said other nice things to him in the past. There was that time she said she wouldn't know what to do if something happened to him while he was on that bull. That was nice-ish. The kiss: so we finally find out the the kiss from "Girl Meets Texas Part 2" wasn't a kiss at all! Yay for clarification! Tune in for a brand new episode of Girl Meets World on January 8th, 2015 entitled "Girl Meets STEM"
