Girl Meets Rules

This episode was a little less than amazing, but still a good episode overall. The ending to this episode was absolutely beautiful. There is a strong door metaphor, and I am excited to share my thoughts.

                                      *****Spoiler's Ahead******

Lucas The Good: More like Lucas the betrayer! Lucas is called out by Corey for having a strong respect for the rules. He is the only kid in the class that doesn't originally get assigned detention. He asks for it then Corey gives it to him.. He feels proud of this and tells Maya that they are alike now. In detention, Lucas abandons his good boy demeanor "I never do anything"(Ok Lucas, so fighting in order to defend Zay, and then getting expelled for a year is nothing. So threatening your teammate(Girl Meets Flaws) is nothing. So threatening someone who wants to hurt your best friend(Girl Meets The Secret of Life). He abandons Riley and all of the good kids to be bad, this was heartbreaking especially since all of Riley's friends crossed over into the bad side.

Riley: She comes up with the idea of proving to her father that they wont tear each other apart. She tries to convince the group to show discipline, and be respectful good people. Even though they play on her innocence and purity, it is nice to see how mature she has become

Rileytown: For the second time this season we learn about Rileytown. This is interesting to see her description of it. She says it is a place of discipline and order, sunshine and rainbows. This is important information for a later episode(Girl Meets Rileytown). Riley is extremely proud of this place, and wants everyone to join her.

Meet Dave: The detention group is split into two groups, the good kids and the bad kids. The good kids stay with Riley, and we meet one named Dave. Dave respects Riley and her goodness, but at the same time he regrets not going with the bad kids. They notice that Riley is way too good, and without bad kids they're bored.

Darby: As the bad kids rampage the hall, we see that they feel incomplete because there are no good people to balance out the bad. There is really no point in the bad kids being bad. We see that one of the kids that is with the bad group is Darby. The interesting thing about this is that she gets only one line, and Yogi is no where to be found in this episode

Power Shift: The bad kids realize that they have no real purpose so they kidnap a good kid, Riley. Riley says that they look ridiculous and makes them wipe the paint off of their faces. She brings them all back to detention where they act respectable.Maya on the other hand takes control of the good kids. Then she decides to teach them her rebel ways, and they  return to detention chanting

Janitor Harley: I don't believe we have seen much of him since "Girl Meets Flaws", but once again they did him justice. He explains the idea of good kids changing you and making you into something better. He gives Maya the metaphor of having two doors, and how a good kid shows you the other door.

Heartbroken: Ava goes to Topanga for help. She rages because a new girl has come, and she is trying to steal Auggie. She is nice, polite, and kind. Ava wants Topanga to make her that way so she can become what Auggie wants. In the end, Auggie says he doesn't want kind and polite all of the

My thoughts: The ending was hands down the most amazing part of the episode. We see Maya in detention alone. She becomes bored and sees the open door, and she becomes extremely tempted to leave. She calls out "Riley", and behind the closed door, Riley appears through the window. Riley says "Right Here" and sits down on the other side of the door. This was absolutely beautiful because it shows how deep their friendship is. Maya can resist temptations of being bad as long as her good friend is there for her. Riley believes in her and even though the door is closed. When she sees Riley on the other side, she knows that it can be opened. She just needs to be patient.

Girl Meets The Tell-Tale-Tot

I cannot believe this show has finally tackled Poe! They took one of his most famous works, and adapted it for children. I am in shock and awe at how beautifully this was done. I cannot wait to share my thoughts.

                                                               *****Spoilers Ahead*****
Here we go again with Maya's obsession with Corey's younger brother, Josh. I hate these episodes, since Maya has been such a strong character, and she has some deep issues and insecurities. Then when Josh comes around she is reduced  to nothing. She becomes very insecure. She coercive Riley into going into a party with her. A college party, with college girls, who are going to pull Josh away from them.

Zay: Once again Zay's need to be the center of attention rises. He has used this in various ways, he is a gossip. This time he decided to help Corey teach the lesson, and steal Farkle's spotlight.

Guilty conscience: Before going to the party Riley's conscience appears in the form of a tater tot. The tater tot appears, and Maya forces her to eat it. After the greatest party of her life, her conscience appears, it reminds her that she can never tell her parents what happened that night. Then it reminds her that her parents trusted her, and her brother lied for her. The funniest moment: "Everything  bad in the world is your fault". This was a humorous stab at the fact that guilt escalates. When you let it grow it feels like everything bad is your fault. I couldn't help but laugh at this.

Bad Girl: Maya and Riley go to the high school party, and Riley has the time of her life. Every time she says something a group picks her up and carries her away. She pledges, and joins a sorority, and based on the events of "Girl Meets Mr. Squirrel" it is strange to see her new handshake. She incorporates the ending includes the signature move of Riley and Maya. Maya is offended by this, and Riley tells her to grow up. It's of course a humor move, but a little too soon Disney.....too soon. Riley seems to have learned a lot from the sorority she joined.

Little Brother: Auggie steps up this episode to keep it from being a cliche, he decided to stand up for her and protect her, even though she snuck out. This ultimately causes him to get in trouble too, which is a little unfair, but a great parenting move by Topanga and Corey.

College Kids: Luckily, Josh made really good choices in friends, and a potential girlfriend. She was completely different from the sorority girls. They sit down and talk with Maya about her crush. They admire her, and her noble attempts to win Josh over. The girls take Maya's side: "It's not the big jesters that you do for other people, but the small jesters that you do for yourself". Maya seems to be more concerned with Riley, and always caring about her. Maya wants to be apart of her family, since her family isn't really around( "Pilot"). They explain that in college age isn't that much of a differnece. If Maya is willing to wait until she is in college, he may be smart enough to realize what a great girl Maya is.

MIA: There was absolutely no Lucas in this episode, this could have been a coincidence, and the interesting thing about this is. It is an episode where Maya is in love with Josh. Hmm, could Josh be a stand-in for Maya's feelings for Lucas?

Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels

Now I have to admit, I thought this episode was going to be terrible based on the title. It just sounds awful, and reminds me of the episode where Riley has to take care of the fish(Girl Meets Fish). I was so wrong! This episode had me smiling from ear to ear! I also laughed out loud at some parts. I cannot wait to share my thoughts.

"Lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself" ~Eric Mathews

The fight: Riley and Maya have a huge fight. Maya is angry because Riley didn't defend her when Lucas called her a "short stack of pancakes". This was a punch to Maya's gut because her identity, and her integrity was shattered. She felt like her whole demeanor was broken. She didn't look tough, all she looked like was a short weak little girl.

Zay: He is such an instigator. From the beginning he has been gossiping about Lucas, and now he is encouraging the fight between Riley and Maya.

Big Brother: We are given a warm welcome to Eric Mathews. Man, are we glad to see him again. He was absolutely hilarious throughout the entire episode. He lived up to that huge applause given to him at the beginning. Corey brought him here to help dissolve the war between Maya and Riley. Though most of the episode he just danced around, and made insane jokes, in the end he knew exactly what to do. It was nice to see the warm moment between Corey and Eric, Eric was so excited that his brother believed in him.

Insecurities: In the end the entire group revealed their insecurities. Riley discovered that everyone thinks she is a giant klutz. Maya came to terms with the fact that she is  short, but so is Topanga, regardless both girls are strong. Farkle is insecure about the reasoning for his need for power. He feels like a mouse, and so power would fill the void. This insecurity comes from Lucas! Perfect! I feel like this is something that needed to happen. In "Girl Meets Flaws" we see Farkle excited that someone cool like Lucas actually called Farkle his best friend. Now, we see the insecurities stemming from have a friend that seemingly looks better than you. I am so happy that this was incorporated into the episode.

Foreshadow: There was an interesting foreshadow that was previously mentioned in "Girl Meets The New World". Topanga was talking about how when she was younger, she had a huge insecurity of about her name. Then she realized that her name was unique! Here Eric uses that against her by stating "You have a stupid name", this was clearly used as a comedic tactic, but interesting nonetheless.
There was another area of foreshadow that appeared. Since the episode "Girl Meets The Secret of Life", Zay had been under the protection of Lucas Frair. When Maya attacks, Zay Lucas stands up for him. This frustrates Maya even more because thats what she wishes Riley would have done for her.

My Thoughts: This episode was the funniest episode so far! Thank goodness because I was tired of buying tissue boxes before every episode! I really enjoyed having Eric back in the picture, a really nice touch for fans of "Boy Meets World". Also I cannot get over the amazing moment where everyone shares their insecurities. The only problem I had was that Zay could have had a huge insecurity. I mean they set it up perfectly in his introductory episode. He could have had this problem with never being heard, or valued. That's why he runs his mouth so much because he wants to be a part of the action. He loves knowing that Lucas has his back, and that he can be a part of the action too. But no! The writer just decided to give him the insecurity of a flat butt!

Girl Meets Pluto

Now this episode was interesting because it placed Riley as as a secondary character. The show was basically split into two shows. "Girl Meets World" and "Boy Meets World", there is one plot and they are merged together in a beautiful way. I cannot wait to share my thoughts.

                                                ****Spoiler's Ahead*****

Protect the Innocent: We learn about creating history. They learned that history changes all of the time, since there used to be nine planets and now there are only eight. The only problem is that Riley doesn't know this. In order to protect her innocence her friends have kept this secret from her. Maya being her closest friend, finally decides to break the news to her. Riley doesn't accept this, she doesn't believe that they can just erase the status of a planet. She is holding out hope for the planet.

Boy Meets World: Farkle comes up with the idea of creating a time capsule. Corey recalls that they made a time capsule when he was younger. The gears begin turning in his head and he becomes determined to dig up the time capsule. He calls Shawn and the two, along with Topanga, Riley and Maya, go visit the time capsule. We reveal history about Shawn and Angela, and they believe that Shawn will run back to Angela to be with her again. Shawn doesn't seem excited about this, and neither does Shawn. The only one that is really excited is Corey. They go to the site where they buried the time capsule, there Feeney catches them and it's just like old times. Feeney goes over and talks to the girls about Corey, he asks how he is doing as an instructor and father. Maya admits that he is the best teacher ever, she also reveals what Corey thought of Feeney as a teacher. Feeney says "It's been a long time, and you're still together. What else do you need to know?" When the capsule is opened it makes perfect sense, Shawn put Angela in the time capsule, and Topanga put a horrible memory in the time capsule. This is why they don't want to open it, Shawn's feelings returned. Then Topanga revealed Lauren's note. She did this in order to rip it up in front of him many years into the future. Corey on the other hand, buried the jean jacket that was a symbol of his and Topanga's love.

Pappy Joe: We hear the first mention of Pappy Joe in this episode. This is the biggest foreshadow of "Girl Meets Texas". We learn about Mutton Busting, and Bull Riding.

Mother Dearest: Maya's mom feels like she needs to be a good parent. She admires Corey and Topanga, and how they deliver life lessons. She really wants to be apart of the fun, and imparts a strong life lesson about hanging on to your dreams. This is important for Riley more than Lucas because Riley wants Pluto to be a planet. This is even more important for Maya. Maya is the biggest dreamer of them all, she desperately wants a father figure in her life. Her biggest dream, since her birthday, has been for Shawn to be that father figure to her.

Maya: Maya is hit hard by this experience, when Shawn remembers Topanga. She feels like she is saying goodbye to Shawn, one of the best things in her life. Riley has hope for her, and her dreams. She encourages her to dream big dreams. Maya confronts Shawn, and says that she needs him to just be there for her. Then Maya tells her friends to leave as she places something into the time capsule. She places the photo of her mom, her, and Shawn on her birthday. That is her big dream, and it could happen. I am really hoping that they get together, but Shawn is acting crazy, traveling the world and writing. I am hoping that he can realize that he and Maya's mom are meant to be. They do have a warm, and awkward moment at the end of the episode which is really encouraging. It shows that love and relationships are scary. Riley and Lucas had an awkward start, and now Shawn and Maya's mom, who are adults are having an awkward moment. Its awesome!

Girl Meets The Secret Of Life

This episode was so great! The formula has been the same, but similar to Pixar, they have been striking emotions and evoking laughter. The key point of this entire episode: "People Change People"

                                                            ****Spoiler's Ahead****
Belgium 1831: We are tempted with finding out what happens in Belgium 1831, but them we are interrupted. We may never actaully find out what happens in Belguim 1831. Farkle gets extremely upset and freaks out(foreshadow to "Girl Meets I am Farkle").

Yogi: Yogi speaks up, and asks "What is the secret of life?" He says that he wants to be recognized and acknowledged even though he is not Riley. He apologizes to Farkle who is extremely excited about Belgium 1831.

Meet Zay: Zay enters extremely cocky, and sure of himself. He talks about Lucas and reveals that he is a year older. Later while they are washing cars, Maya talks to Zay, in an attempt to uncover what Lucas actual did in Texas. Zay doesn't want to get in to anymore trouble with Lucas, so he refuses to say more. Zay mentions that they have a close knit group, and he feels really excluded. He realizes that he has caused enough trouble to their group and tries to find his own way. In the process he gets himself into trouble and finds himself calling out to Lucas. Lucas bails him out without being expelled. After he talks to Lucas, we learn that Zay likes the idea of someone having his back. Lucas is a good friend, someone who would do anything for a friend.

Lucas's Secret: His secret is that he was expelled from his school, and he was out for a year. After the year was up he came to new york for a fresh start. There he met Riley, Maya and Farkle who helped him.

Maya and Riley: Well, why would I even make this section. Well Riley and Maya are a parallel of Zay and Lucas. They are both best friends, and they both depend on each other. Lucas is the one to bail Zay out, just like Maya bails Riley out. Of course Zay and Riley are nothing alike, but Lucas and Maya are so similar.


Maya: Maya first shows her feelings for Lucas in this episode. She finally admits that she likes Lucas(as a friend but it is a really good start). Then Maya notices Lucas being Texas Lucas in the hallway, this gets her excited. I think that this side of Lucas really makes it hard for her to conceal her feelings.

My thoughts: Meeting Zay was really interesting, and we find out that Lucas was expelled from his previous school. It is assumed that he was expelled for fighting for Zay. I think that this was foreshadowed in the episode "Girl Meets Flaws". Zay is just kike any of us, he just wants someone to depend on. He has one of the most loyal friends in the entire world. Why would he want to lose that?

Not sure the relevance yet: Lucas wants to be a veterinarian, Riley has mentioned this several times, so i feel like it will become important soon.

Girl Meets The New World

This episode was a closure episode. We find out that Riley and Lucas are trying to move on, after Riley's kiss with Lucas. There is a surprise visit by recurring characters, and I can't wait to see where they appear again.

                                                ****Spoiler's Ahead****
Problem Solver: Riley is desperately trying to avoid her feelings for Lucas. She's trying to occupy her schedule but there is nothing for her to do, so see results to solving every one's problems. She finally comes to the fact that she can't avoid her feelings

Darby&Yogi: Finally we incorporate some secondary characters, the lovers from "Girl Meets First Date". They have received real names, and character traits. They are the awkward couple that makes everyone uncomfortable. They seem to be the only official couple in the entire school, so it only makes sense that they would be interested in the idea of another couple coming together.

Meet Dewey: Auggie finally has a new friend, that isn't Ava. Topanga gets really excited, until she discovers his name: Dewey(pronounced Doy).  Topanga explains the correct pronunciation of his name, and he begins to cry. Corey comes to rescue crying Dewey, and he is pronouncing his name like Doy as well.

Greece Allusion: Similar to the song: "Summer Lovin" from the movie "Greece" The boys and girls from the school are separated, and they try to get all of the details about the kiss. They want to know where there relationship goes from here. They really ship them so hard but, more than anything, they are just eager to know what happens now.

Lucas and Riley: After a ton of peer pressure, they decided that it would be the best to be a couple since everyone wants that. The are extremely awkward as a couple until Lucas says that titles aren't important. Then they notice a couple watching hands, and they become nervous. They see a real couple and it is clear that they are not ready for that type of commitment. Lucas walks Riley home, and they enter acting extremely stiff and awkward. After talking to Topanga, they decide to break up and stay friends. That was easy to them and they wanted to continue keeping t easy.

Corey vs. Topanga: Corey comes in and defends the name. He explains to Topanga that his name is his, and he deserves to pronounce it how he would like it. Corey tries to explain the idea of giving kids independence, and letting them live. After Topanga talks to Riley, and Lucas she becomes determined that the situation with Dewey is not ok.

My Thoughts: I believe that the argument between Corey and Topanga was very sticky. We have two sides: the idea that Corey believes kids should live without being interfered with, and the idea that kids need to be taught the right way to live. The interesting thing about this is that both arguments are correct. Neither parent in wrong. Topanga had the bold idea to teach Dewey, which wasn't wrong, but it was better placed in the conversation with Riley and Lucas. I think Dewey is way too young to really appreciate and understand what Topanga is trying to do. Then there is Corey, who is preaching Laissez Faire but doesn't even understand that his taught has fallen into the trap that he had hoped that she would never fall into. He tried to hold her back from dating Lucas for the longest, and right under his nose, Lucas starts dating his daughter.

Another key element was that Maya is extremely vain. She became obsessed with Farkle all because he had an expensive diamond ring on him. This may prove to be an important character trait for her, or it could have just been a way for the writers to poke fun at women.

An extremely bold moment for Riley and Lucas was their breakup! It must have been really hard for them to do that, but they both accepted the blame and were smart enough to realize that they were better off as friends.

Girl Meets Gravity

This episode was extremely dramatic, and a very sad way to start the season. This is was such an unexpected, and emotional episode. I feel like this was a perfect start to the season. So let's get started!

                                                          *****Spoiler's Ahead***********

Riley and Maya: They believe that they are ready for independence(foreshadow to "Girl Meets Texas"). They say that they are ready to explore the world on their own. They don't need Corey's lessons anymore, so they decide to transfer out of his class.

Parallel Class: Maya and Riley successfully transfer out of Corey's class, and they enter a new class only to find that they aren't the main characters. They see two girls that are similar to them, this class has its' own Farkle and Lucas too. The camera doesn't even want to focus on them in this class, the teacher refers to them as extras who don't get to have a moment. This was a hilarious parallel to the students in Riley's class that they've never even noticed before. It was nice to see them come crawling back to Corey's class, when they find out that things aren't as pretty on the other side.

Independence:In this episode, Riley and Maya want one thing: independence. They want to be free of their parents control. They feel like their parents are smothering them. Riley's Dad becomes her teacher again, and Topanga takes control of Maya and Riley's favorite hangout spot. Not only that, Maya's mom helps out at the hang out spot.

Riley and Lucas: These love birds have nothing but awkward conversations, for most of this episode. I think that Riley feels abandoned a little, since Lucas and Riley cannot have a real conversations. The first time they actually talk, they are in disagreement about the idea of Riley's Dad as a teacher. It shows the first strain in their relationship.

Svorski's: Auggie volunteers to help Mrs. Svorski in her shop. Mrs. Svorski always tells  Auggie a joke that e doesn't understand but he loves. For some reason he doesn't find it funny. Mrs. Svorski tells Topanga that she wants to get rid of her shop. She wants to give it to Topanga for helping her keep the shop in the first place. She was the key part of this episode, and she created problems for Riley and Maya. She gave away the shop to Topanga, who hires Maya's mom. This is an issue for girls, but it is also what humbles them.

The Speech: This episode begins with Riley explaining that she thought she and her friends were the center of the universe.  Later she explains how individuals feel that they are the center of the universe. She talk about the sun and how it rises and falls, then how we trust the sun to always come back again(foreshadow to ending of the episode). She ends the speech by explaining that she wasn't really close to Mrs. Svorski. She didn't feel her gravitational pull, but her death has inspired her to embrace the pull her parents have on her because it wont last forever.

The most Emotional Moment in the entire episode was Auggie. In the end, Auggie left the shop and gave one last look at Mrs. Svorski. The look in his eyes, and Topanga lightly dragging him away, it almost looks as though Auggie knows that he will never see Mrs. Svorski again. Then we find out that she is gone. When Auggie opens the flower shaker there is a note that reads: It's not my-krainian bakery, I'm dead!". Then they incorporated a moment for the fans of the show "Boy Meets World"(Thank you!), Corey becomes emotional about the death of Mrs. Svorski, and Riley's speech touches him. His response is to call his former teacher, to check up on him. We finally saw Mr. Feeney in Girl Meets World, and his cameo was perfect. A beautiful tear-jerker for the fans! Dang it Disney!

Heads Up!

Hey Guys,

So since Girl Meets World is on a three week haitus, I decided that I am going to start blogging from the begininng of the season. I really love this season so I am going to start from episode 1. I will work from there, I may not be able to catch up to "Girl Meets Texas" before November 6th but it doesn't hurt to try!

I also plan on covering other Disney Channel shows, but let's be honest, I am still tripping over "Girl Meet's Texas".  Everything else pales in comparison: the new episode of K.C. Undercover was so depressingly awful, and I haven't even seen the new Liv&Maddie, and can someone explain to me why "Best friends Whenever" has only aired 10 episodes, and the show started in early May? I will get to them all eventually.

Girl Meets RileyTown

"Its been my experience that when it comes to his friends, nothing can hold him back" ~Zay

This episode was extremely emotional, and it had no new formula. They've done an episode like this one before, but this time they changed it slightly and made it work perfectly. The similiar episode "Girl Meets Flaws" was another episode that emphasized the idea that our flaws make us special. This however took a new approach, and an exciting and powerful message.

                                                ****Spoiler Alert****
The trigger world for this episode is "Rileytown". After Maya encourages this idea, Riley calls her a bully. Maya is hurt by this but she's not giving up. She is determined to discover why Riley is acting this way. Riley challenges Maya to a duel and Maya accepts.

They duel with ice cream, and Maya decides not to engage. She tries to show that she has no conflict with Riley. Riley believes that she has to prove something to Maya. She forces the ice cream in Maya's face and storms out. Maya shows no aggression, and is determined to figure out what is going on with Riley. Maya encourages Corey and Topanga to not get involved. This shows incredible strength because Maya is learning that they need to work things out without adult intervention.

Farkle is the one who uncovers the truth about Riley, since he himself has had a run in with a similar situation(Girl Meets Flaws). He realizes that Riley is being bullied, and instantly sends Lucas away. Then he explains the situation to both Maya and Lucas. Lucas engages in his rage.


The Big Lesson in this episode deals with conflict. Lucas and Farkle have two different views of conflict resolution, you can either talk it out or go to war. This parallels Maya and Riley's conflict, and they decide that the best way to fix their conflict is duel. They learned that if a conflict cannot be resolved peacefully, then someone can get hurt.


The one thing about this episode that makes it THE BEST, was the performance by Rowan Blanchard. She stood up and delivered that speech perfectly, and she evoked so much emotion inside of it. There were harsh words, and the viewers were able to feel the pain that Riley felt. The tears in her eyes were so powerful. It was more than just a monologue. It was pour of emotion, and the character coming face to face with their biggest insecurities.

Next came the moment with all of her friends  coming to her rescue.  Maya sat with her in the window and was the shoulder for her to lean on. After she had her initial cry, the gentleman came in to provide extra comfort. They circled around and ensured her that the most important thing was that she remember her friends were there. They cared about her and they wanted nothing but the bet for her. With that, she was able to close out the episode with an amazing monologue.  This is what separates "Girl Meets Rileytown" from "Girl Meets Flaws". Although Riley had her friends support, she chose to face the bully on her own. She revealed her most private self to her bully, and the entire school. Her friends supported her, but they didn't fight for her. That is what makes this episode unique.

Girl Meets Texas(Part 3) Review

Well this is the last post that I have on the three part story arch to "Girl Meets Texas". There were several issues that I had with this episode, but there were many positives. There were many moments of warmth, and a decent cliff hanger to keep us wanting more.

We're back in New York! Maya tries to explain what happened to Riley, and I am eager to know if that was supposed to be a kiss or if that was just a caressing of Maya's hair. We're treated with a delightfully awkward moment between Lucas, Maya, and Riley.


They hinted that season 3 will deal with group going into high school. It was wonderful to see the real Maya. I like that she placed emphasis on the idea that she tries to hide the real her. I really like her learning experience that. The characters are gaining deeper understandings of themselves.

The Lesson:The Hoover Dam was the lesson of the day. Once something makes it through the barrier of the strongest structure, it changes everything. Riley learns that something happened between Maya and Lucas, after that she decides to go on a date with Charlie. After that the lesson transitions into Wold War II, and the complications between Japan and France.

Zay's Trait:Zay's personality really comes out. We find out that, yes indeed, he is a gossip. But can we really blame him? I mean come on. I'm even here gossiping about Maya and Lucas.
The Auggie moment in this episode was really unnecessary, and they play on his innocent child like behavior, but it is really old. He sat down and yelled at Lucas, and it was for no other reason than being an adorable scene.

Corey's Help:One of the biggest issues in this episode was Corey's struggle. He wants the best for his daughter, and would do anything to prevent him from being hurt. He goes to the extremity of naming the lesson after them. He decides he wants to get straight to the point, rather than metaphorical apply some area of history to their lives. He even goes to extreme measures of enlisting on Farkle's help. This was really interesting .For the entire series, Corey has been having internal battles with the teacher inside of him as well as the parent inside of him. The teacher wants Riley to take on the world, while the father wants to protect her from it. Topanga seems to be the voice that blends the two sides of Corey together.

Mother and Daughter:I also loved the intimate moment between Topanga and Riley. Through the majority of the show, Topanga is occupied with Dewey, Ava, and Auggie. It was a very nice change to see Riley and her mom spend some quality time together. This moment was so special because Riley finally came clean about her feelings about the entire situation. She admitted that she thought she was doing the right thing, but it feels so bad.

Farkle Helps:In this episode Farkle really wants to help all of his friends, and that's why he gets involved. He's not a spy or a messenger for Corey. It's almost as though now that Farkle is back from Texas, his eyes are opened to the issues going on with his friends, and now he needs to help. He starts with Zay, who is more of a viewer than an actor. He is just as hooked into the drama as we are; however, Zay does mention something absolutely crucial: "Lucas would do anything for his friends." This is an important character trait for Lucas because this was mentioned before in "Girl Meets Rileytown". This time, however, Zay uses this to show how alike Riley and Lucas are. This scene is one of my favorites because it's mostly character analysis.

My Favorite Moment:The best moment was the scene between Farkle and Riley. He really cares about Riley and didn't want her feelings to be hurt in the midst of her good deed. This scene is very special because I am in total belief that they are a parallel to Corey and Topanga. Farkle says with a somewhat heavy heart that he knows for a fact that Lucas likes Riley. Then he threatens to tell everyone about what Riley is feeling. He doesn't want their to be lies in their group. The two admit that they love(as friends) each other. Farkle watches as Riley and Charlie go on their date.

Maya and Riley:Maya and Riley have a conversation about their dates, and how they don't know as much as they thought they knew. They admit that their scared, but it is clear that they are together and that is what is important in this episode.

The Problem:At the Bay Window, I feel that they are dragging the awkward moments between Riley and Lucas are getting really old. I feel as though this was not a good moment for the Bay Window to appear, but it was for comedy purposes, so it's pardoned.

The Laughs:There are two important moments of comedy. The first would be when Corey shouts "HOOVER DAM". That was extremely risky for a children's show and I am so surprised they got away with it. The second would be the placenta joke that Lucas made after Maya poured the smoothie on him.

And now the wait begins until November 6th!

Girl Meets Texas(Part 2) Review

This episode was huge for Riley and Maya. It's so exciting to see these girls finally taking on the world. The entire series has been leading up to this moment, and I'm excited to share my thoughts

                                                       ****Spoilers Ahead****
This episode begins with Lucas processing Riley's statement: "I like you like a brother". Zay chimes in, complaining irrelevantly, about his history with Vanessa, the cheerleader who broke his heart, previously mentioned in "Girl Meets Rah Rah". Riley enters in total doubt about her feelings for Lucas. She is trying to process the idea of looking at Lucas as a brother for the sake of Maya. They all go out an try to have a good night in Texas. Later around the campfire Maya's true feelings are revealed.

Let's talk Farke: Farkle seems to act like even more of a jerk in this episode. He gets into a confrontation with Pappy Joe about the health concerns of barbecued foods. He stands up to him and calls him a cliche, if he attacks a nerd. Farkle seems to be into name calling, he calls Pappy Joe: hombre. He also attacks Lucas for telling him to calm down his obsession with barbecue food.

There is, however, a really warm moment between Farkle and Maya. Farkle confronts Maya, but she has no words. She just cant seem to process her feelings, so she rests on his shoulder. Farkle tries to force Maya to admit that she really cares about Lucas, but Maya will not budge.

Zay's Problem: A blast from the past comes and attacks Zay. Vanessa comes into the picture, and Zay is lucky enough to have friends as good as Riley and Maya. Maya pretends to be Zay's girlfriend, and Riley jumps in and pretends to be his other girlfriend.  It was really nice that the writers thought incorporated this element of Vanessa. In "Girl Meets Rah Rah", we saw how much of an effect Vanessa had over Zay, and his negative viewpoint of cheerleaders. We finally meet the love of his life two weeks later, and she doesn't disappoint. Zay ends up being the one that got away(nice twist). More importantly, Zay find closure with Vanessa, and he ultimately realizes that his friends are more important than Vanessa.

Maya's Dilema:Maya works through her feelings for Lucas in this episode. She almost admits to caring about Lucas being hurt in the beginning. Her real feelings don't come out until the campfire scene. They play around with the idea of Maya and Zay pretending to be a couple, and it feels as though Maya is using this as a way to distract from her feelings.

Good Old Corey:Pappy Joe delivers the lesson in this episode. He delivers a lesson about children behaving, and presents a letter to the children from Corey.

Take Care of Each Other,
Enjoy The World"

The Hoedown:There is a moment inside of the hoedown where Maya and Riley are caught on opposite sides of Lucas. There is a moment of tension, where both of these girls are so in love with Lucas, but they don't want to hurt each other. One of the most promising moments was that standing right next to Riley, in this scene, was Farkle. Could this be a hint to their parallel of Corey and Topanga?

In this scene there was also a song sang by two girls, Madie&Tae. The song is called "No Place Like You". This song is a reflection of both Riley and Maya's feelings for Lucas. They seem to be directing it to Maya mostly because in the end of the episode she just wants wants to stare at the fire. She just wants to enjoy Lucas they way they were, and she didn't want her feelings to complicate things. "Sometimes I wish I could close my eyes and kick my shoes, theres no place like you". They also have a moment where Riley is staring at Lucas. It's subtle, but it's still there.

The Campfire:Sitting by the camp fire, all of the truth is revealed. Riley spills Maya's secret, and she also offers to buy Farkle ice cream(to give Lucas and Maya some time alone). While they are alone, all Maya wants to do is stare at the fire. She feels so uncomfortable being alone with Lucas. She doesn't want to admit that she likes Lucas, and she confesses that it is easier for her to make fun of Lucas rather than address her feelings. Lucas caresses Maya's hair, and it should have been a kiss. He says something perplexing "please don't tell my sister". He doesn't Riley to find out that this happened. Why? It was very confusing. I am still not sure if this was supposed to be a kiss or not, but it seems that it was some intimate moment.

The ending:The conclusion of this episode was great because it included the two animal motifs at the beginning, and turned them into more than just simple motifs. Lucas faces both the bull and the sheep. The sheep represents Riley and the bull represents Maya. He admits that he was originally afraid of the sheep, and he says that the bull gave him nightmares from the very beginning. Once he realized he had a c
chance with the bull he was terrified. They both have impacted him as he has grown up.  His Pappy Joe sends him off with a good luck.

My favorite part:The letter that Corey writes to the kids is by far my favorite piece of the episode. This letter reminds viewers that he isn't in this episode. Riley has always had issues where her parents were two feet away, and this season the kids have been saying that they don't want their interference. They want to work things out on their own. It has all been preparation for this. Now, they are in Texas, thousands of miles away from Corey and Topanga. They have to fix their issues by themselves, they can't go running to their parents.

Girl Meets Texas(Part 1) Review

This episode of Girl Meets World is one of the most game changing. There was enough drama and emotion to last a lifetime, this is definitely something that we needed in order to survive the three week hiatus. I am so excited to discuss this 3 part extravaganza.

                                                    ***SPOILERS AHEAD*****
The episode begins with Riley and Maya's big announcement.They announce that they've changed some one's life, Zay being the new guy in the group declares that he is satisfied with his life, and Farkle addresses some key notes about his character, and how he doesn't wish to change. He enlightens the audience on his physical changes since the first season. While I'll always miss young and awkward Corey Fogelmanis, I felt that it was a nice touch. The girls announce that they have signed Lucas up to face his biggest regret: not becoming a championship sheep rider. The girls with good intentions accidentally signed Lucas up to ride a bull instead. Not just any bull, a fearsome bull that goes by the name of Tombstone.

In this episode we were able to meet Pappy Joe, a character that has been hinted at for a while this season. In the episode "Girl Meets Pluto", we first hear about Pappy Joe, and his relationship with Lucas. Now, we finally get to meet him. He's a very interesting character because he seems to be very warm and hospitable, but he says he will drop Lucas in a hot second, if Lucas refuses to ride the bull.
Pappy Joe seems to be a really good guy, but some things are questionable. He calls Lucas a "disgrace" for falling off of a sheep when he was five. The only redemption that he would be able to receive, would be riding this bull. It just doesn't seem fair.

 It's very interesting how the "Bay Window" stands to be the strongest running motif in the series. Pappy Joe loves the idea of the bay window and decides to keep it. I feel as though this is the reason that Riley is so for Lucas riding the bull. She wants Pappy Joe and Lucas to have a strong relationship, and the only way for that to happen is if Lucas rides Tombstone the bull.

In this episode we also learned about Zay, he is a first class gossip. He spilled Lucas's deepest darkest secret to Riley and Maya. Now at first, I thought Zay was a terrible friend, but realizing that he only told 2 of Lucas's closest friends. So, he recieves redemption for that.

Farkle really seems to have grown into a jerk. In season one, he complained that the lessons were interrupted by natural lives. Now. he yells at Corey for not applying the lesson to their everyday lives.  He even calls Corey, Hambone meaning an inferior actor. This doesnt really phase Corey, he says he likes it because it sounds cool, so all is forgiven Farkle.

One thing that I really liked about Farkle this episode, was that he developed a stronger, closer bond with Zay and Lucas. They basically adopted him at the end of the episode. This showed a closer brotherly bond between the trio.

Maya was able to receive some peace in Texas upon their arrival, one of Lucas's relatives used one of Maya's taunts for Lucas("Hu-hur"), in an actual sentance.. Maya stated that her life was complete. Anyone watching this episode could have told you that her life was anything but complete. She was worried about Lucas's safety and didn't want to watch him hurt himself. She threatened to never speak to Lucas again. This was totaly out of character, and prompts Riley to talk to Maya.

Maya and Riley have a short discussion about the reason for  Maya's actions. Riley believes that Maya is in love with Lucas. This theory is something that fans of the show have been hoping for! They really want Lucas and Maya to get together because they fit so perfectly. Lucas was the one who looked Maya in the eye, and believed that she could get the art program back at their school(Girl Meets Creativity). Lucas was the one who volunteered to hold Maya back if things got out of hand with Riley and Maya's conflict(Girl Meet Rileytown). They both have this anger and agression inside of them, and they are the two toughest characters on the show, so it only makes sense that they would be together.

There was the powerful motif of the animals, in this episode. There was Tombstone the bull, who proved to be a formidable foe. It also seemed as though Judy the sheep was a tougher foe than Tombstone. Lucas was able to inspire a child, the grandson of his grandfathers arch enemy. Which was very admirable.

The overall lesson of this episode, was the idea of the railroad, and the idea of travel. Taking a walk in someone else's shoes. Riley, Maya and Farkle went to Texas with Zay and Lucas. They were able to see how he lived in Texas, and what his life was like.

My one and only problem with the episode was that Riley stayed to watch Lucas ride the bull. It seems that whatever was going on with Maya was more important, than possibly watching Lucas get hurt. But overall it was really nice to see Maya display her feelings for Lucas.
