The Lesson: People change people. You need to understand other beliefs in order to choose your own.
Maya: Maya seems to not believe in anything, she really wants to continue with that idea. She doesn't want to be influenced by anyone else's beliefs. I think that this is really important to Maya's character because it shows how damaged she is by not having her family around as much as she would like. She can't see how anyone could be watching her when all of this bad stuff happens to her. In the end, Maya prays for Riley to have and endless supply of great days.
Farkle: The man of science. He needs a direct answer to everything, and he believes that science is the only way to get those answers. He thinks that people with religious and spiritual beliefs are crazy. He thinks this not because of his intelligence, which is a huge factor, but also because he is still comparing himself to Lucas. He feels like if there is a God, he's easier for Lucas to believe in because Lucas was graced with good looks.
Lucas: I feel as though they made him a stereotype. He is a moral compass, and that was stated in the first episode of the season. He also is from the south, which is known for their strong religious beliefs. It only makes sense that Lucas and Farkle would conflict on this issue, so stereotype forgiven.
Riley: She says something that usually gets people in trouble but she said it in such a humorous way: "Why won't everyone believe what I believe?" Great Job Rowan! This seems to be a question that she has asked herself once before this season. In Girl Meets Rules, she didn't directly ask this question but it was very clear that she felt like her friends had abandoned her for the dark side. She was probably wondering this same question when that happened too.
Final thoughts: While this wasn't the best episode, one characters performance stole the entire show. Auggie, who was trying to talk to Mrs. Forsky the entire episode. This made us really sad remembering what happened to her in Girl Meets Gravity. It was so amazing to finally see Auggie dealing with the pain of losing his dear friend. We haven't seen much of that. I do believe that his episode was out of order. It should have come right after Girl Meet's Gravity in order to work into the plot. There really wasn't enough of an impact to place this one right after Girl Meets The Forgiveness Project, and can i please know the aftermath of Girl Meets Texas? Can I please have Charlie and Riley?
Tune in Friday, December 4th for a brand new episode called "Girl Meets the New Year"
